Since the day in 1965 when a friend introduced me to The Wreck of the Deutschland fragments of poems have appeared in my head unbidden.

But they were drowned out while I paid attention to other things for 50 years.


Now I peer into a pool in lutruwita and think I could sink and sing forever.

Then I see my reflection waving back.
