3 January 2011
the original poem included a background image – a photo taken through the neck of a green beer bottle viewing the base of the bottle, some beer remaining; and seen through the base of the bottle, a blurry view of the country beyond; in other words more of the poem was in the image than in the words (something that applies to many of my poems written over a decade or so)
goin up country
this year’s
vertigo
is last year’s
solo
come with me
to goin up
country
where time
strolls
and there’s beer
still in the bottle
