put your ear
to the thinking earth
put your foot
on bare sand
damp prints speak
below the line the tide just reached
put your mouth
to a fruit in the tree
tear it off with your teeth
eat it without hands
keep them for fabulous things
like touching the night
go on push them push them
deeper into the night
such is how it is with a woman or a man
who has no anger in their heart
