red roses in pot
red roses in pot

when you ran through our open door and it was
glass

your face opened

Silver ran barefoot across shards, wrapped her shirt round your head

to hold your cheek in place

I touched triple zero

your mother hadn’t moved

she’d seen

her firstborn sliced into daylight

it took only a moment

for you to bloom
